Khenpo Choga's Heart Advice Regarding Recent Tragic Events

Yesterday at Virginia Tech University a young Korean man named Seung-Hui Cho shot over 50 people, killing 32 of them, and then he shot and killed himself.

We can see from this event that the negative thinking and negative meditation of one person can cause a lot of suffering in the world. We should also know that the practice of Dharma, of positive thinking, of one person can cause a lot of happiness in the world...

Dzogchen Summer Retreat 2006, led by HE Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, was successfully completed on August 5. This year's retreat took place at Cedar Ridge Camp in the coastal range of Oregon USA.

On Sunday, February 19, Andrea and Sara Foreman of Shanti Shanti were interviewed by Kay Tuma on her world music program on the Las Vegas station KUNV. They discussed the upcoming Fire Dog benefit concert in Las Vegas as well as their music and use of Sanskrit in their lyrics.

Portland Fundraiser for Dzogchen
Retreat Project Success

December 10, 2005

The First Annual ...Inconceivable... Dzogchen Dharma Gala, Auction and Fundraising event, conducted by Dzogchen Shri Singha Foundation for the Dzogchen Retreat Project, was held in Portland, Oregon on Dec. 10. This event was the first public fundraising event for the project, and ushered in the community effort for this excellent cause. The event raised about $12,000 for the Dzogchen Retret Center Project. Thank everyone who participated to make this event a success!

Annual Board Meeting of Dzogchen Shri Singha Foundation

Sept. 23-25, 2005, Boulder City, Nevada Dzogchen Shri Singha Foundation held its annual board meeting in Boulder City Nevada. This year's meeting was marked by an increase in board membership from 5 to 17 people, and an increase in general voting membership to 25 people. New members were drawn from local Dzogchen Groups around the country. The newly-expanded board was created to promote the united effort of local Dzogchen sanghas in creating Dzogchen Retreat Center USA.

Inaugural Blessing and Teaching at the Sun Valley, Idaho, USA Prayer Wheel

Inauguration of Rebuilt Dzogchen School

August, Dzogchen, Tibet, 2005 Thanks largely to the constant efforts of Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, Arik Gyatrul Rinpoche, Shoman Maretich and the generosity of the worldwide Dzogchen Dharma community, the first stage of the rebuilding and refurbishment of Dzogchen elementary schoolhas been completed, and what was a "temporary" school within a dilapidated military structure has beentransformed into a real school with seven classrooms, an administrative office and teachers' housing.We should all celebrate with our children the inauguration of this school, and rejoice in the generosity of all who have helped to make this a reality. Many tasks still lie ahead.

Dzogchen Dharma Center Opening in Eugene, Oregon

April, 24 Eugene, Oregon USA 2005 This Kalachakra day, H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche presided over the opening ceremonies for the Dzogchen Buddha Foundation's new Dharma center in Eugene, Oregon.  Rinpoche also gave an excellent teaching on "The Meaning of Kalachakra." The center will be known as the "Dzogchen Dharma Center." Photos of the day's events.

Dharma Path Materials Online

April, 2005 USA New materials for Dharma Path study of Shantideva's Bodhisattvacaryavatara & Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche's extensive commentary on this text have been put online at this site. This is part of our long-term plan to get these materials into shape where they can become a main study resource in English for the Sutra Lineage within the Dzogchen Lineage teaching tradition.
